The kit is produced for the determination of viral RNA from influenza A/H5N1 using reverse transcriptase/polymerase chain reaction.
Assay Principle
Influenza virus infection is a major public health problem worldwide. Influenza viruses are enveloped, single stranded RNA viruses of the Orthomyxoviridae family. They are classifed as types A, B, and C based on differences in their nucleoproteins and matrix proteins. The influenza A/H5N1 strain is found as highly pathogenic (HPAI) as well as low pathogenic (LPAI) viruses.
The kit is designed for the detection of viral RNA from influenza A/H5N1. The kit contains the lyophilised reaction mixes Rx-Mix A, Rx-Mix H5 and Rx-Mix N1. Rx-Mix A allows the determination of the type of influenza virus, i.e. A. Rx-Mix identified the hemagglutinin gene HA 5. The reaction mix N1 characterises the neuraminadase gene NA1.
Target RNA and Amplified Fragments
Viral RNA from Influenza A virus
Amplicon size with A-Mix: 191 bp
Amplicon size with H5-Mix: 192 bp
Amplicon size with N1-Mix: 107 bp
Kit Contents
Reaction mix (Rx-Mix A), lyoph. for 5 x 10 assays
Reaction mix (Rx-Mix H5), lyoph. for 5 x 10 assays
Reaction mix (Rx-Mix N1), lyoph. for 5 x 10 assays
