Detect urease activity of Helicobacter pylori in gastric mucosal biopsies rapidly.
Product description
Helicobacter pylori produce large amounts of urease enzymes. Although urease primarily allows Helicobacter pylori to utilize urea as a nitrogen source, the breakdown of urea also produces high local concentration of ammonia. When a tissue specimen from a patient is released into the test, the elevated pH level produced by the presence of urease enzyme is indicated by a color change in the test paper.
In most cases, positive results will appear in 5 to 30 minutes, while all positive results will be shown in 1 hour.
