Mycotoxins

Mycotoxins are natural contamintants and their complete elimination is impossible. A major goal of agro-food companies is to prevent and control mycotoxin contamination in foods and feeds for human and animal health safety. Systems for pre-harvest and post-harvest prevention of fungal development in field crops and during the food-chain process are very effective in controlling the problem.

The use of reliable analytical methods that are effective for both raw materials and processed products is of paramount relevance for studying the effect of food processing on mycotoxin-contaminated commodities.

Antibody

Aspergillis flavus is a plant, animal, and human pathogen that produces the carcinogen, aflaatoxin. Aflatoxins are potent toxic, carcinogenic, mutagenic and immunosuppressive agents, produced as secondary metabolites by the fungus Aspergillus flavus and A. parasiticus on variety of food products.

Reference Standards

Our mycotoxin standards are specifically designed for use according to the Official Methods of the Association of Official Analytical Chemists (AOAC). We test all products by spectroscopy and/or HPLC against known standards and previous lots to ensure precision and uniformity, assuring that you are obtaining the finest mycotoxin standards available. Other aflatoxins are avaiable on request.
